A welcome addition to any museum Practical, easy to use, An acquisition that pays off:
The Compatible Hanging System TRACK & SLIDE®
The TRACK & SLIDE® (T&S®) hanging system introduces an entirely new, efficient, and easy to use way of hanging art objects and paintings. Internationally patented*, this extremely stable compatible system consists of just 2 basic units: a track and a slide.
Generally, the track unit is mounted onto an object (in most cases a frame), and the slide unit is mounted to a wall. These 2 units are then brought together. An adjustability screw in the track enables one to adjust the height of the painting following hanging, and without having to remove it from the wall. The T&S® system, which is surprisingly simple from a technical point of view, has additional, positive features. A horizontally placed security screw provides theft protection. For transportation, a special screw with a built-in buffer can be installed in the track, and then mounted to a transportation box. Further functions also have conservational advantages. For example, the hanging system as well as compatible units such as the extender allow for optimal air circulation behind the objects, and special, compatible storage screws enable objects to be easily hung onto storage room grids.
In addition to the T&S® product line, which is primarily used for wall hanging, another series, TRACK & WIRE® (T&W®), was developed for hanging paintings or objects by wire. The T&W® system also has the same compatiblility functions mentioned above.
The German Art Conservator Georg Hayde developed the both the T&S® and T&W® hanging systems, and has continually improved upon them over the years.
Made out of high quality materials, both systems serve the aesthetic and practical daily needs of any museum. All of the units are made out of brass, are hand-finished, and come in a variety of sizes so that even large and heavy formats can be easily hung.
Practical experience has shown that the T&S® / T&W® systems reduce the time needed for hanging in half.
Since TRACK & SLIDE has been on the market, it has been used by national museums, galleries and private collections including the Alte Pinakothek in Munich, The Art Collection in Düsseldorf, the Segantini Museum in St. Moritz, Switzerland, the Museum of Modern Art in Gent, Belgium, the Picasso Museum in Münster, and the Singer Museum in Laren, Netherlands.
Here's what professionals have to say about the TRACK & SLIDE hanging system:
"The T&S® and T&W hanging systems, both which have been used for hanging paintings in the Bavarian National Gallery, have proven to be useful and practical in their application.
In addition to their variability with regard to the size and weight of the objects, the T&S®/T&W® units meet the necessary criteria for security and art conservation, and are also time-saving due to the ease with which they can be used. All these attributes make these hanging systems valuable and practical tools for any museum."
Bruno Heimberg, Director Doerner Institute, Munich
"We are convinced of the merits of the T&S®/T&W® hanging systems. Through practical experience and by observing how T&S® and T&W® have been applied in museums and other art exhibitions, we have seen that these are not conventional 'eye and hook' hanging systems, but that they differentiate themselves positively from other hanging systems.
As insurers of art exhibitions and collection, we are particularly interested in the outstanding security functions of the T&S®/T&W® hanging systems, however the attributes that take art conservation into consideration are of equal value.
We recommend T&S and T&W® to the security advisors of museums and private collections, and are pleased when we hear that these systems are planned for use in newly constructed or renovated museums."
